Pyramid Open Champion Shahid Khan (England) comes to
Albany this weekend seeded #1 in the Siena Open. Khan is a
teaching pro in Westchester County's Club at 800.
He is seeded to meet last season's PST #11 Andrew Kriete
(United States) in the finals. Kriete is still searching for his
first PST tournament title.
To reach the finals both will have to get through a tough draw
of talented, regionally based pros, including: Phil Wilkins
(Wales), Eric Lamsa (Canada), Kyel Jens (United
States), Bradbury Thompson (United States).
Local hopes rest on Malik Magdon-Ismail who received a
local wildcard spot for the tournament.
Match play begins Friday at 5:00 p.m.

Andrew Kriete is a new teaching pro at Concord,
Massachusetts' Concord Acton Squash Club. Before turning pro, Kriete
was the #1 squash player and captain at Amherst College. |
